4Growing to love this one!Feb 06, 2008
I agree with some others that this high chair might not be best used for those under the age of 7 months, and I used the Bumbo until my son fit in this high chair, but when he did, I've loved using it. I initially had the frustration about not being able to machine wash the fabric of this chair, but as I'm such a busy mom of a toddler now, I appreciate that it indeed can be cleaned up with just a wet sponge or even a Clorox wipe! I was amazed that greasy lazagne blops were wiped up without a grease mark; the brown patterned fabric appears to make every splotch dissapear. I love it! I also agree that the buckles have nooks that collect food, as does the main tray where it presses right near the baby's bib, but I've been able to quickly wipe it down. And it doesn't matter to me that the removable tray doesn't fit in the dishwasher, as I only run the dishwasher once a day and my son eats 3 times a day, I end up hand-washing it or wiping it down anyway. Everything clicks smoothly, the tray easily attaches with one hand and always latches correctly. Even the footrest comes of easily for releasing little crumbs. Again, I feel the color of the plastic and vinyl parts are the perfect smudge-hiding color brown and grey. Wonderful! No hassles here as it seems like the most comfortable, easy to use, smart-looking, functional high chair we could have gotten. I give it 4 stars!

2some nice features, but some really bad ones tooFeb 22, 2007
we've had this high chair for about 7 months now. we bought this high chair because it had many features that we were looking for (recline, adjustable height, compact fold), and because the chair pad wasn't a loud color or annoying frilly. (we didn't buy the fisher price aquarium chair because of its appearance.)

our biggest complaints with the chair are:

the fabric chair pad is NOT machine washable (the instructions say to spot clean with a damp cloth), which makes absolutely no sense because the baby will make messes that cannot be cleaned by wiping.

the design of the safety harness is very bad. the buckles on the should straps and the crotch strap are very hard to open/close. just today, the crotch harness got stuck because our babysitter inserted it slightly crooked, and now we cannot open it. (calling customer service now...) also the buckles have little nooks that collect food.

1Cheaply craftedJan 09, 2007
Awful. Feels cheap. Looks cheap. But isnt cheap. Harness connection is IMPOSSIBLE. Seat doesnt support my 5 month old (though she's within the guidelines). Harness/restraints wont tighten enough--that doesnt matter though, as I cant unlatch the clips. Their cheap clips that require too much force and time. The tray is too easy to get offtrack (I can see why other reviewers had related safety problems)

An additional tray is pointless. Its not as if you'll use one while the auxilliary tray is in the dishwasher... it wont fit!!!

Sure, this high chair does all the things the chairs of this class do: it reclines, it has multiple height adjustments. I think this wowed some of the other reviewers but ... all the other highchairs at this price point have the same perks! So RUN, do not walk toward any OTHER highchair.

We had this chair in our house for a day, then drove it back and begged for an upgrade.

We bought the Peg Perego Papa Diner because it was the only other chair model our store had. Its $70 more but having had the Chicco in my house... I can appreciate the quality of the Peg Perego. Its sturdier, has a better finish, has a more sensible harness latch, and a tray thats easily inserted. AND my baby FITS in it for her first solid meal!

I am so relieved.

My sister-in-law asks if I got a bargain. I probably own one of the more expensive highchairs out there, but YES! I've been spared living and struggling with the Chicco, and I have an expensive but incredibly functional and reasonably attractive replacement. A TOTAL BARGAIN

5Best high chair EVER - stop shopping and buy this one!!Jun 06, 2006
I'm a mom of 2, and we got this high chair for my 2nd daughter, who is now 6 months old. Having been through the whole high chair, booster seat, big kid chair fiasco once already, I knew exactly what I did and did not want in a high chair. I went to babies r us and tried every high chair. All while trying to entertain my two year old, swinging my infant on my hip, and keeping an eye on my shopping cart, I was able to operate this chair easily. This was important to me because at home I'm often entertaining my 2 year old, swinging my infant on my hip and keeping an eye on something or another. The tray slides open very easily with one hand, and can either just be slid open, or removed entirely. The harness can be either 3 or 5 point, which is a very nice feature. The recline feature is also extremely simple, and a great option to have while training my daughter to hold her own sippy cup. We don't have a use for the height positioning yet, but it seems like it will come in handy. The fabric is quite nice looking considering that it is vinyl. Over all, I am extremely satisfied with this chair. Not a single complaint!

5Great ChaieFeb 21, 2006
My son is 12 weeks old and last week we put this chair together for him. He LOVES it. He will sit with us at dinner and not fuss like in the bouncy seat or swing and is at the same level as we are so it is easy to entertain him. Highly recommended. So many positions, so much versatility and folds so slim, too.
