great chair!May 20, 2008 We bought this a year ago for our 6 year old. It is just as stable and solid as when my husband first assembled it (which was really not very difficult). I had also considered the more expensive brand, but I am glad that I did not spend the extra $150 (we paid $75 for ours). This Hipposmile is well worth the money. I've even had adults sitting on it. The only minor complaint is that the back "cushion" has always been a little too small and keeps coming off, and they are too thin to really make a comfort difference. We resolved that by using it as filling and covering it with more padding and material to make it thicker. Considering the Stokke doesn't even come with cushions, Hipposmile is still a better value. My 2 year old now wants one like her sister's!
Overall, very pleased with quality and style.Oct 08, 2007 We purchased the Happy Hippo High Chair in July of 2007 for our 20 month old son. It arrived quickly with all parts and my husband was able to assemble it without problems. I initially chose this chair over similar chairs due to costs and the fact the Hippo High Chair came with straps and a washable cushion verses having to pay extra with the other chair options. Immediately my son climbed up to sit in his "big boy" chair with ease. His feet no longer dangle and he is able to join us at the dinner table verses sitting besides us in a traditional high chair. After 3 months of use we are still pleased. The finish has remained nice despite repeating cleanings of wet and dried foods and the snap button for the straps are still in good functioning order despite many clip-ons and offs. The only thing that is on my "could be better" list is the seat cushion which worked fine up until I hand washed it and hung to dry. Now it has a tendency to pull forward on the seat pulling the middle seat strap to the underside of the seat. I have to pull the cushion back to the proper position about once a week. The back cushion still functions the same. Despite that, overall the Happy Hippo High Chair is a great product, our son uses it everyday and loves it.

Great Chairs, Great PriceFeb 01, 2007 These chairs are great! We have twin girls who have outgrown their high chairs, and the booster seats just weren't doing the trick....So we ordered two hipposmile chairs and the girls seem much more comfortable sitting at mealtime. And, given that we needed two chairs, we certainly appreciated the reasonable price.
Love this chair... A must have ...Jan 24, 2007 I bought this chair after my 2 year old reffused to sit in the regular highchair, but was still not fully reaching the table to sit in a regular chair. This chair is great, my daughter loves it and any time my older nieces and nephews come over they fight over who gets to sit there ( and their ages range from 2 - 12 :-). Delivered quickly without problems and I am planning on getting another one soon, for my younger daughter who is almost 1yr now, so they won't fight over this one :-)

Great Chairs!Dec 15, 2006 I'm a bit baffled by the neg. reviewer -
I have 3 and 5 year old kids and we use our dining table a lot, for art, homework, eating, etc. - I was tired of how the kids just could not sit properly in the adult chairs, and they refused to use a booster seat. So I searched and searched for an alternative to Stokke (just too expensive for a relatively simple design). I ordered 2 Hipposmile chairs in teak finish, dealt directly with customer service as I needed shipping to Hawaii options, and was very pleased with the prompt and pleasant email replies and telephone conversations with George. Chairs arrived 2 days ago , one in a damaged box - the chair was fine but some hardware fell out during shipping, and George said replacement hardware would come via express shipping. George said they'd had some other issues with UPS and would switch to FedEx. It always sucks when something arrives damaged somehow, but that's the risk of mail order and again the customer service was great.
For the chair I did assemble - it was simple to do, clear instructions, and the kids love it and can really sit well at the table. I'm looking forward to many years of use from these chairs and have recommended them to my friends with toddlers and school age kids.
