MY FAVORITE SUMMER FIND!Jul 10, 2008 After countless water bottles (safe plastic ones to the trendy Sigg bottles), I am so pleased with this find. After a few hours at the park, at 100 degree plus temperature,we came back to the car to find the water in this bottle still cold! That really sold me and my kids. Plus, it's super, super easy to operate for my kids ages 6 and 4. I am buying many more to give to friends and family since they have become my favorite things this summer.
The only drawback is the straw - young kids will probably want to chew them. I called Thermos and it's pretty easy to order spare straw parts. They are $1 each with a minimal shipping charge. I am ordering a few more to have on hand since I plan to have my kids use these for many years to come.
I also own the Thermo's Hydration Bottle for myself since I drink coffee and water on the go. I am new to Thermos products but they are just great and I love my bottle and have it in the car when I am out and about. It always amazes me to come back and still have cold water to drink after many hours away! I am convinced and will try other Thermos products now. Maybe hot soup for lunch...
Awesome!!!Jul 08, 2008 This is the best straw bottle!!! I got 2 of them. When I opended them there was a strong smell, but after I soaked them in warm water and dish soap for 30 min there was NO SMELL AT ALL!!!!
My kids just love ther new cups!!!
A++++++++++++++
Beware of cracking plastic!Jul 06, 2008 I was happy to find a BPA-free sippy cup with a straw (this was the only I could find) because our speech therapist suggested a straw sippy. They worked great for about a month, but they're not very toddler proof. My son dropped them a couple of times and the ring of plastic around the bottom started to crack. The plastic comes off in sharp small pieces that would NOT be good for him to eat (fortunately he's not sticking everything in his mouth anymore.) It also leaves pretty sharp pieces sticking out. Unfortunately, you can't just pull the plastic piece off because it's glued on.
Yea!Jun 19, 2008 This is the perfect BPA free option for young kids. Love it. I'm certain we'll be on the lookout for replacement straws down the road, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
The best straw cup I've found so far.May 30, 2008 I am very happy with how well this cup keeps beverages cold. I used to pour out a lot more sour milk before I started using these. My 2 year old has no problem opening and closing the lid, and this cup is less likely to leak than the Munchkin straw cups I have used up until now. These are very similar to the Thermos "Funtainer" cups, but they do differ in the straw assembly. I found a blog that explains it very well http://babytoolkit.blogspot.com/2007/05/thinking-thermos-funtainer-and-foogo.html but basically, the Foogo cups are designed to be more safe for smaller children. These are very well designed, user-friendly cups. My only knock on these is the process required to obtain replacement straws. There is no way to simply buy them at a store or order them online. You have to call Thermos customer service at 1-800-831-9242 during business hours (they close at 4:30pm central time) and if you call after hours, you could sit on hold forever without realizing that they're closed. I called at 2:30pm central time and got right through and was able to order the replacement straws I needed easily enough. They only cost $1 each, plus a small shipping charge. My suggestion would be to jump through this hoop as soon as you purchase your cups so that you have them on hand when you need them. I wash mine in the dishwasher and they have held up just fine. One of my straws slipped through the cracks and melted on the metal element in my dishwasher, hence the need for a replacement. The bottom line is that I've had these cups for 6 months now and I love them. I'm buying a few more to phase out my older plastic Munchkin cups. They are well worth a few extra dollars.
