good baby placematApr 22, 2008
This was given to us as a gift, and its been very helpful when we eat out. It provides a clean surface for our son to eat off of, and makes cleanup much easier when our meal is done. Suction cups worked fine for us, we occasionally had problems with our son pulling up the mat, but for the most part he was more interested in the food.

I can't believe we didn't have this product SOONER! Instead - my husband and I would wipe down the entire table at a restaurant with disinfectant wipes from home. We must have looked NUTS! This sticks well to most surfaces, is very pliable (easy to roll-up and stash in the diaper/baby bag) and easy to wash. We have 2 now: one for home - and one for going out.

It is great, and we use it every time we go out with our 1 year old. Yes the suction cup under his head almost never sticks to the table but the rest stick to most tables. Our son can rip it off the table if he gets determined but if we keep an eye on him it works great. the scoop catches a lot and of food and our son likes to put food in and take it back out which keeps him busy and keeps him from dropping food all over the floor. I would always recommend to rinse it off in the bathroom sink before you head out so as to not forget and find it dirty at the next restaurant. I like that it is reusable and not disposable we through away to much as it is.

This is a great item to take out to restaurants because it cuts down on the big mess under your table. The little gutter catches a lot of items that would have ended up on the floor. And you can make sure your baby is eating on a clean surface. My only complaint is that it doesn't stick to tablecloths so baby ends up playing with it and rolling it up instead of eating.

I ended up using this at home rather than as a portable matt (I got the disposable kind for on the go) but still find it very useful. The catch really works to at least minimize mess as food travels off the plate and (theoretically) to the mouth. Nothing will prevent a mess entirely when you are dealing with kiddos, but this has been really helpful. Its easy to rinse off and when it gets really funky, I have often thrown it in the dishwasher. It has taken some abuse and the catch tray is starting to break at the edges so I am back for #2!
